Horizons will be returning to Hybrid learning on Tuesday, January 19th. The schedule will be similar to the one that we had before Thanksgiving break. There were many factors that the faculty considered when making this decision, including the number of students projected to opt into Home or In-Person learning, employee exemptions, space constraints, and our ability to implement mitigation strategies. This does deviate from the previous plan that we shared with you in November, which relied on case rates/100,000 people to guide our decision. Even though case rates are still above the 350 cases/100,000 people, we are confident that we can return students safely in this Hybrid model. This is because the most current research indicates that a school’s ability to implement appropriate mitigation strategies is the most important factor to consider when deciding whether to open schools to In-person learning.
All updated preferences for remote and in-person learning have now been recorded and will show up in Infinite Campus.
We will resume online home-learning on Tuesday, January 5th and it will continue until Friday, January 15th.
