Refugee Donation Box

Recently, ⅞ had a project week. One of the project weeks was Human Flow, where students studied refugees and how hard it is for them to move into new countries. To help the cause, there is a refugee donation box at the front of the school that will accept bathroom supplies, laundry baskets, and trash bags or shopping bags. The supplies will be collected before winter break and will be sent to Project Worthmore.

Project Worthmore is a nonprofit organization of committed community members who give, volunteer, mentor, and befriend our refugee neighbors. They create and distribute welcome baskets to new refugees. The baskets contain daily necessities because the refugees have no or little personal possessions from their old country because they had to leave quickly. Project Worthmore has a hard time acquiring the number of items needed because they have so many refugees to take care of.

For more information, go to www.projectworthmore.org. You can also make a donation on their website or go to Teran’s classroom to donate.
