Sign your child up for Trip Trackers if you haven’t already!

 If you haven’t signed up for Trip Trackers, it’s never too late! Your child can still be part of the fun when Trip Tracker “dollars” are handed out at school. Simply go to the BVSD Trip Tracker website to register. You can log any carpool to or from school, as well as any trips via bus, bike, skateboard, foot, etc.

Are you interested in starting a coding club at Horizons K-8?

·  Google’s CS First Curriculum allows anybody to facilitate Coding Club at their school with little to NO CS background.

·  Training for CS First Coding Club Facilitators will be held 4:30-6:30 at Google Boulder

·  On November 7th.  Learn how to start a club, how to use the curriculum and how to differentiate for your students.   Complete this form to RSVP!

Adventure Days

On October 19, 20 & 21, Horizons will be closed to accommodate student conferences.  It is our school policy, that when our school is closed and BVSD is open, we offer Adventure Days.  Three days of supervised fun!

Para Subs Needed

Looking to help out at school??? Have a Flexible Schedule???

Have experience working with kids???


Horizons is looking for parents who are interested in subbing for paras!  

What are the requirements?

  • Pass the TCLogiq screen (this screen costs $17, but our school will reimburse the cost, see Denise with your receipt)

Did you already submit your fingerprints?

  • You can be a para sub!

Why sub as a para?

  • FUN!!! Work with students in the classroom
  • Help with lunch and recess (great time to connect with kids!)
  • Participate in our community
  • Sometimes our paras get sick, or need to take a personal day, having a strong list of subs helps us all get through the day safe and sound


  • $12 per hour
  • Typical hours (8:30-12:30 OR 9:05-1:05)
  • K-Enrichment (12:00-3:30)

Being on time is never as important as being safe.  Please be careful driving in our school neighborhood.  Our neighbors are complaining about fast speeds, particularly in the morning.  We certainly urge our students to be on time but never to sacrifice safe, slow, careful driving- please!
