Our goal is to provide K-8 students with a unique Horizons experience.  Our dedicated K-8 teachers and industry professionals are providing a wide variety of camp opportunities.
Come join for Fantasy Crafts for Fans, Up Down Circus, Spilled Ink Creative Writing, , The Colors of Summer French, 3D Design and Printing, Catapults, We Can Make a Difference Volunteering, Storytelling and Creative Movement, Zero to Coding Web Design, and Stitch Camp Sewing and Embroidery!

May 6th 1:00-2:00 p.m.

All current K and 1st graders are invited to join on the playground and bring a picnic lunch or purchase pizza from the school.  Gather to meet families and friends who will be together next school year as a 1/2 team. Popsicles will be provided.

Horizons K-8 Kindergarten and New Family Orientation

May 9th 5:45-7:30 p.m.

All parents with incoming kindergarteners and new students to Horizons are invited to an orientation.  The evening begins with a meet and greet from 5:45-6:15 p.m. in the Cafeteria followed by orientations for Kindergarten parents and parents of new students in 1st-8th grade from 6:15-7:30 p.m. Coffee and appetizers will be served.

Welcoming our new teachers.... Shannon

Shannon Waugh

Shannon got her Elementary Education teaching license through the Friends’ School Teacher Preparation Program, where she taught Kindergarten last year. She received her Bachelor’s in Sociology from CU Boulder, and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Educational Psychology from UC Denver. In her free time she enjoys hiking, biking and being outdoors in this beautiful state! Her other passions include musical theater, improv, and ultimate frisbee.

Gianna Fable

Gianna has been teaching young learners from kindergarten to grade 2 since 2005. Her passion to travel provided her wonderful opportunities to teach at American International Schools in China, Vietnam and the Dominican Republic. Gianna received her BA at Metropolitan State University of Denver and her MA in Linguistically and Culturally Diverse Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In her free time, she loves trail running, backpacking with her husband, reading and yoga.

Welcoming our new teachers....Emmy

Emmy Kurtz

Born and raised in Boulder, Emmy is a true Colorado girl. She obtained a BA in sociology and music and a MA in elementary education, both from the University of Denver. She is also endorsed in early childhood education. She taught at Isabella Bird Community School for 2 years in ECE and 1st grade and also has experience as an Expeditionary Learning teacher. As a graduate of Horizons K-8, Emmy is fortunate to work side-by-side with her

mentors and childhood teachers. Horizons provides the foundation and support for Emmy to work with children in flourishing as creative problem solvers, inquiring explorers, eager leaders in service, rich knowledge holders, and connected global citizens – both in the classroom and beyond. In her free time, Emmy can be found singing, traveling, cooking, hiking with her family’s Golden Retriever, practicing her Spanish, appreciating music, and IMG_0624finding shapes in the clouds while relaxing in a hammock.
