Lost & Found Overflowing

Our Lost & Found is so full that we have had to take the water bottles and lunch boxes out of it and put in separate boxes next to it.  Please come and take a look.  We have returned everything that is labeled but there are many, many coats, hats, etc. that we think your student would be happy to retrieve.

Teens can apply for summer jobs with Boulder County Youth Corps

CONTACT: Judy Wolfe, Youth Corps Program Manager, 303-678-6104

Teens can apply for summer jobs with Boulder County Youth Corps

Boulder County residents ages 14-17 can now apply for summer jobs with the Youth Corps. Girls

especially are encouraged to apply. Applications are available online and at counseling offices in

schools.  The deadline to submit an application is Friday, March 25.

The Youth Corps offers one of the best first job opportunities available in Boulder County.  160

teenagers will be hired to work 30 hours a week, Monday through Thursday, from June 13 to

August 3 on a variety of community service projects. Projects will include such activities as trail

construction and maintenance, historic preservation, forest thinning, construction and repair of

fencing, landscaping and removal of Russian olive trees and noxious weeds.

Corpsmembers will earn a starting hourly wage of $8.31, with the possibility of earning a $100

bonus at the end of the program based on merit and strong attendance.

“My first year in the Youth Corps changed my life and was where I met some of my best

friends,” one of last summer’s Corpsmembers said of the experience.

For more information or to apply online, visit www.BoulderCounty.org/YouthCorps.

Horizons Community Group Project Meeting

HCG Project Meeting

Friday, Jan. 15th

8:309:30 a.m. in the Cafeteria

This month we are going to gather to support each other on an important topic: decluttering our homes!  I picked up the popular book, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo, and decided that I want to share my obsession with it. Let’s bond over our “clutter.”

Jamie Schlomberg and I will lead this meeting to share our experience, insights, and tips from this book and popular organizational method. We hope you join us. Everyone is welcome!

New Choir Session Beginning

Capture

Horizons K-8  CHOIR

Dear Parent/Student,

The second session of Choir at Horizons will begin Tuesday, January 12th right after school! Classes are 45 minutes long, from 3:45-4:30pm. (Supervision is provided from 3:30-3:45).

In its second year, Choir is a wonderful opportunity for kids to grow musically, meet new friends who share their love for singing, and to learn HOW to sing correctly! All levels are welcome (advanced singers will have the opportunity to work in a smaller ensemble as well as the group).

Choir is being taught by Ellen Moeller and Alice Hartman.

Since these classes are not part of the school curriculum, there is a charge. There are 3 sessions each year, at a cost of $125 per session ($12.50 per class). Part of this fee is for the rental of the room at the school and the insurance we have to have in order to offer class.

To enroll your student for the second session, please fill out the attached form below and return to Hope at the front desk or email Ellen at ellen@ellenmoeller.com
