Hope Nelson-Roohr - Administrative Assistant
Hope
has been on staff at Horizons since it was a twinkle in the eye
of several creative teachers and parents. She has worked as
a para, and in the office ever since the opening of the school in
1991. She has been the registrar, the health room director,
the office manager, the Open Enrollment coordinator, the Principal's
secretary and is currently, the Administrative Assistant at Horizons.
She calls Horizons, "her middle child."

Contacting Teachers
One commitment that Horizons faculty members share is to develop effective communication with families. Rather than maintain strict office hours, the faculty has agreed to be available on an as-needed basis to provide ongoing feedback about student progress, respond to questions or concerns in a timely fashion, or to meet with parents to clarify information or to participate in joint problem-solving. Some teachers do keep office hours - see the teacher's homeroom page for more information - but feel free to contact a teacher via his or her email address, by stopping by the classroom before or after school, or via telephone whenever you have a question or concern.
