I am excited to start working directly with all kindergarten through eighth grade students as your new STEAM teacher! STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. I am leaving behind a four successful seasons as the Director of Summer STEAM Programs at CU Science Discovery. My primary duties were to oversee all aspects of a STEAM summer camp program, with over 200 programs, that served 3000 kids each summer!

This year, I intend to empower all kids in grades K-8 to explore their internal sense of wonder and imagination to solve real world problems. Kids will investigate, design, plan, create, evaluate, and communicate their work to each other and the community. I will be leveraging my connections with the CU Boulder campus to bring engineering students into the makerspace, to coedesign a working toy for kids in Children’s Hospital through my new nonprofit EcosySTEM ARTS. I am also launching a Technology Student Association chapter for our 7th and 8th grade students!

STEAM Exploration areas for this school year include the following.

  • Aerospace
  • Boat Design
  • Digital Media (video, photo, graphic design)
  • Electronics
  • Programming
  • Product Design
  • Robotics
  • Simple Machines
  • Solar Decathlon home design
  • 3D design and printing
  • Woodworking
